Still Tired, Hashtag Game St David's day Movies, Tweet Like A Creationist Hashtag game.

Just woken up; been in bed since about 10 am so there almost 12 hours and I'm still tied and still aching from coughing. Seems that my #StDavidsDayMovie Twitter hashtag game continued whilst I was asleep and ended up with over 400 entries. I've never created one before and there's a really feeling of paternal pride involved. Was trying to sleep but kept coming back to it, on phone, in bed for a few hours just to see if it had taken off and to add any new ones I'd thought of before I forgot them.
The games themselves are addictive but I can see how creating them could be even more so. It's a bit like watching a baby grow or at least that's the closest analogy that immediately comes to mind. I'm currently copying and editing all the postings into a separate blog post so that I'll be able to see them at any time but editing is rather tedious so I'm just letting my deleting finger take a short break and writing this instead.

I ALSO POSTED IN #TWEETlIKEACREATIONIST AND ONE OF MY TWEETS APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN QUITE POPULAR TO; THIS WAS ...

Getting Back In Harness

It’s been weeks since last I posted anything on this poor forgotten blog. I’ve been writing but all of it has been tweets and poor old bloggy has been forgotten. Oh well there’ll be a missing mystery period that’ll confuse my descendants if they ever read this but it’s time to get back in harness. Got a shitty stick handed to me last night by Hasmukh. Dawn is facing a stage four attendance/sickness/absence hearing this coming Friday and H tells me that because she’s not in the union, he’s union rep, and because he’s acted as her manager, in absence of JDM, he can’t represent her. So muggins here got asked if he would stand in. Spoke with dawn and got all her paper work (dating back to 2003) and to tell the truth it’s not good. She’s had a hell of a lot of absence and reading the notes from her manager who’s instigated this process it sounds as if he’s got it in for her. There are ways of writing these things and his report couldn’t be more negative. I used to like Barry (her manager) but more and more he’s turning into a total arsehole. I managed to get JKDM off the hook last Xmas when he was suspended accused of threatening another member of staff (total bollocks the accuser been demoted since) and this seems to make people think I can work miracles. Cheesus I ain’t and this is gonna be a shitter. I’ve got until Friday evening to come up with plausible reasons as to why her employment shouldn’t be terminated. With the added problem of Barry obviously having the knives out this isn’t going to be the cake walk JDM’s problem turned out to be! I hate it when people rely on me if I wanted responsibility I go for promotion.

Twitter: hackie By Fundie F*ckwit

I finished work and headed home after a tiring night of tweeting bad puns and various other hashtag shenanigans. Somehow, since all the Rapture nonsense I’d managed to increase my followers from approx 350 to, at this point, 432; alas this was not going to continue. Once home I logged back into Twitter to keep up the conversations. I’d been involved in two for the last few hours. One was with @Kitty_Revllry and her pal @Pribbzilla  and the other was with @AKdavedownunder @thinkprogress And involved battling Rabbit Zombie Pirates (arising from a frightening bedtime story KR had tweeted to me) and a second involing @Maggiepricess (in the USA) and @AKdavedownunder, an ex-biker turn cook, about treating him as royalty because of his cooking prowess (Twitter does get a bit odd it’s a kind of free form improvising session, if there is such a thing…imagine each person randomly writes the next line of the story and you’ll have a decent idea of what I mean). Suddenly my steam was bombarded with mentions containing my name and others. I was, it turned out, under attack by a noted Christian Fundamentalist who goes by the name of Marbus. No sooner had his tirade of shit appeared but it vanished only to be replaced a short time later by even viler messages sent by him from another one off twitter account. He creates them launches a stream of abusive texts and then terminates the account. This is why they subsequently disappear. Somehow this activity manged to wipe my Twitter mentions history, including that mornings silly conversations,. Luckily, for me, they continue to remain on my phone in the Gravity application. I’ll need to move them over to another holding place before risking upgrading the next time Gravity gets a new release.  I can’t recall anything else happening that day, I supposed I should be proud to be included within the ranks of those a Fundie would seek to target but to be honest it was an honour I would have cheerfully done without.

Are You Ready To Rapture...On Twitter?

What a great day. Spent mainly on Twitter exchanging tweets Re: The Rapture which, according to the lunatic Harold Camping (owner of Family Radio – apparently only Christians have families). The contempt shown toward these idiots was boundless and the Twittersphere was chock-a-block with sarcastic tweets all through the day. I spent most of the day adding my tuppence worth. Both my #BibleBelts went down a treat and I gathered quite a number of new followers as a result.
I’d finished work in the morning and eventually grabbed a few hours sleep before returning to the PC and counting down to midnight. Alas I discovered the Rapture wasn’t due to commence until 6PM on the 21st so as Midnight struck there were no earthquakes. Along with everyone else I continued to wait patiently and will reveal what happened in tomorrow’s entry. I’ve no idea whether anything happened to anyone else in the family that day as I was too busy to care…what a loving Father I am…a bit like God really.

Brockington College, a Shining Report, Well Done Nat, Henry, Quiz Night, Scouts, Work, Calls, Meeting, Twitter

Well who’s a clever boy then? Today we had to visit Brockington College to meet with Nat’s teachers for a report on his progress at school this year. What a fantastic surprise; with the expected exception of his hand writing and rushed presentation his teachers, without exception, had nothing but praise for him. Miss Lewis, his form teacher, was effusive in her praise of him, his attitude to learning and his knowledge. The only criticism she had to make was that he was impatient with others who didn’t have the same level of knowledge as he did. She warmed him that as he progressed thought the education system he would meet cleverer sand cleverer people and wouldn’t always be the brightest in the class. I think she was warning him of the dangers of Hubris.

He was performing at the highest levels in Science, Maths, History, Geography, ICT and English and made a good contribution in all his classes and could be relied on to answer the more difficult questions and to follow and develop arguments.

We bumped into lots of people we’d not seen for a while, Cathy (Jonathon’s Mum), Nicky (Connor’s Mum), Brandon’s Mum and Dad and finally Dave and Maxine (Henry’s parents). Judging by Dave and Maxine’s faces when they were speaking to Miss Lewis (who’s also Henry’s form teacher) they were finally learning a few unpalatable home truths about the apple of the eyes.

Henry can be a right little inconsiderate shit but each of them has always been utterly blind to this and has always, whenever someone has accused him of doing something wrong, uncritically taken his side. It is all well and good supporting your child but the end result is that he’s grown into an amoral little bastard who is virtually friendless. Nat, who’s usually pretty easy going, can’t abide him which of itself says a lot. Maybe this will prove to be a wake-up call…one can only hope so, for Henry’s sake as much as anything.

On a lighter note, we picked up tickets for the school quiz on Saturday and after chatting with the new head, a very nice chap it seemed, were invited, should we wish, to be part of his team. Obviously being a Parent Governor, as Deb is, has its perks!

When we got home Nat and Hannah got changed for scouts, Han is now attending Scouts as well as Cubs as preparation for moving up after next week. Deb drove them there while I remained home getting ready for work. Hope they had a good time; the question is, will Scouts be able to survive Hannah!

Work was incredibly busy, again, between 8-9pm for reasons I still can’t explain. Why are there 70 calls in queue at times when during the rest of the evening one is left waiting for the next call. We had a meeting, supposed to last an hour ran for 90 minutes in part because, as usually we were all left waiting for C to finish a call. She does this every time we have a meeting and there were many moans about her while we waited. The bike4work scheme has been launched again and this may be a good opportunity to get Nat the new bike he so desperately needs!

Spent some (a lot of) time on Twitter tonight and got JDM contributing suggestions for #animalsongs, in fact his first suggestion got retweeted almost immediately the jammy sod! This was Guinea, Guinea, Guinea a Lamb After Midnight #animalsongs Admittedly, I added lamb instead of man but he came up with Guinea.

Here the rest of tonight’s tweets:

Kenya Third Round, N8 Fiddling, Photo, Boxing, Work IT Problems, Feed By Hasmuhk, Return To Twitter,

It looks as if I’ll have to find even more money from somewhere (where???) as Nat advised us today that he’s been told that he is through to the 3rd round of the Kenya Trip selection process… Lucky Bugger! Now I’m in the position of hoping that next winter will prove to be as bad as this has been. If it is then I’ll at least have the opportunity to do masses of overtime and accumulate mucho needed spondoullies. This being the case then next year we’ll most likely have the mildest winter since records began…eternal optimist me.

I recall little else; I stayed up on the PC until approximately 12:30 after which I climbed the stairs sleepily to Bedfordshire where upon I alternated between napping and listening to podcasts. I think I was a little light on the napping because when I woke at 6:00 I was totally fricking knackered as we say here in Englishland (yes where the history comes from). Oh I forgot, I know what I was doing on the PC I was alternating between reading up on mobiles, the N8 in particular, and playing with the camera application on said mobile to see what it was capable. I took a series of close-up photos of Monty and then played about photographing the hot water bottle cover; yes I know that sounds weird but you’ll get the picture (ouch) from examining the pictures below. When I got up and after I’d eaten I continued doing this for a little while with Hannah, trying to get multiple images of her into a single panoramic photo. I wasn’t very successful at achieving the desired result, in part because she wasn’t sure what I wanted her to do and partly because I was in a rush to do it before changing to go to work. I’ll have to try again when I’m off and explain what I want her to do more clearly and take more time setting up the shots. Well you can’t learn from your mistakes if you don’t make any to begin with…can you?

The kids had been busy; when I first came downstairs Nat was away boxing and Han was at ballet. When they returned Nat immediately went upstairs to get changed for scouts where, typically, he faffed about and was still not dressed when Darren turned up to take him there.

Ended up leaving a little late and there was a strong head wind on the way in I barely made it to work on time. I told JDM that I’d be a little late starting to take calls because I needed to catch me breath. I needn’t have worried as soon as I’d signed on it was apparent that there were problems with my account and I couldn’t access the main programme we use. Fifty minutes, and many attempts, later the IT desk was finally able to solve the problem and finally at 20:45 I was able to start work.

The night was very changeable, early on, until 23:00, we were heavily overmanned and had little to do. At 23:00 when everyone other than our team left we were inundated for the best part of the next two hours. After that it settled down and was reasonably quiet throughout the rest of the night. Yet again H’s wife had made him far more food than he could possibly eat and Prash has brought his own so I, once more, had the pleasure of enjoying H’s wife’s wonderfully delicious Indian cooking. Why are people under the impression that vegetarian cooking is boring and tasteless? They couldn’t be more wrong! I feel a little guilty taking all this food but as H says if he goes home with uneaten stuff he gets into trouble so really it’s me that’s doing him a favour…does anyone think I should charge him for this or should I continue to be the selfless one?

Isn’t it weird a little while ago I was convinced that I had nothing to write about today and then before you know it I’m close to hitting the seven hundred word mark? Oh it truly is a strange world where these words can mysteriously appear from nowhere and it also obvious when someone has started writing drivel in order to reach that magic One Thousand Words point. Wait a mo, there’s no need for this pointless prevarication I’ve just thought of something real to write about.

Tonight signalled my real return to the Twitter sphere; I’ve made a few random posts over the last couple of nights but tonight I started remaking contact with some of those I exchanged regular tweets with prior to the inclement weather. Got back in contact with @RobinEccles earlier in the day and exchanged a number of tweets with @Fab44Me in Las Vegas; she’s the native American lady who’s son got a copy of Call of Duty on the same day that Nat did and who Nat’s played against a few times on his X-Box. Sent a terrible joke reply in response to @CrispySea

Re: his comment on sexing up the Opera;

@CrispySea Surely (yes I called U Shirley) there's no need to sex up Opera unless or until the Fat Lady Minges. So, Sorry I couldn't resist!

no response to that one as yet.

Tonight the Hash Tag I played with was #sagamusic and I think that I did manage to come up with quite a few pretty funny ones, certainly I had a retweet and a number of direct responses to a few of them. So, in all their glory here they are:

Finished Work, Frenzied Inactivity, Twitter, Call of Duty: Black Ops, Possible Las Vegas link Up

Finished work for another four days. The day passed in another frenzied round of inactivity, roll on spring I’m going to the allotment EVERYDAY just to have something to do. Anther day passed in a blur of Tweets. I shouldn’t make that sound so pathetic as I do enjoy going on Twitter it’s almost as good as having actual friends…feeling sorry for yourself there boy?

Today was the day Nat had been waiting for; the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops. He’d (Deb had) pre-ordered it and it arrived shortly after he’d left for school. Well, when he got home that was it. He wasn’t seen again for the remainder of the day. I must say that when I popped in to see him I was mightily impressed with the graphics even if I couldn’t keep track of what he was doing. It appears he has a natural aptitude for these games.

One of the people I exchange tweets with, who’s based in Las Vegas, was getting it for her Son and suggested that he (Nick) and Nat might play on line sometime. There’s and eight hour time difference so it might not prove to be too easy to do but worth a try (you’ll see in a later entry that they did get to play).

Twittering and That's Your Lot

I can't recall anything much happening today; again I spent most of the dat on Twitter (no wonder we've got such a backlog of unwatched TV progammes).

Wednesday, 27 October 2010

PC, Twitter, Booze, Civilisation, Boxing, 10 year old Girl sparring, nerf gun, scouts, Jacob

Again the day passed with me at home mostly on the PC tweeting and drinking beer, civilization you gotta love it. Nat had boxing this evening, before scouts; apparently he had thee sparring matches, one of which was against a Ten Year Old Girl,(it seems she wanted to fight him)all of which he won by applying the berserker within The 10 year old was stopped after 10 seconds apparently when he floored her.

Later in the evening when at Scouts Jacob gave him his birthday present which was a double barreled Nerf gun.

Twitter, Overtime Request, Spooks

Nothing much happened today, it’s still one of my of days but Deb was back to work and the kids were back to school so I spent most of the day on the PC doing not a lot. Spent some time on Twitter, started uploading holiday photos and videos. Not much else. I received a call from Sarah, senior manager at work, at about 18:00 asking me if I could come in this evening to do overtime because they were exceedingly short staffed. Normally I‘d jump at the chance but I’d had a few beers during the day, it was peeing down with rain and so I didn’t fancy cycling with that combination. Taped yet another episode of Spooks, I must start watching them before the recorders full.

Tuesday 12 October - Sprained wrist, overtime, all about symbian, podcast, N8, Nokia, Steve Litchfield, University fee, Clare Rayner,JDM, Christopher Hitchins, Twitter, Follower

I don’t know why but every time I notice that today’s the 12th of October I feel as if there’s something important about this day I should remember but for the life of me I can’t.
I finished my stint of O/T with the other team at midnight and rode home. I appear to have sprained my wrist while doing this; I HAD TO BRAKE SUDDENLY AT ONE POINT AND THIS MAY HAVE BEEN THE CAUSE when something ran in front of the bike. Whatever the cause; when I got home and went to sit down I nearly screamed when I put all my weight on to my left hand. It was extremely painful, for a moment I thought I'd broken my wrist. The upshot was that I had to dig out one of the kids boxing bandages, strap it round my wrist and then try not to roll over, while asleep, in the bed. This was easier said than done and I was woken a number of times throughout the night. By the time morning arrived I was exhausted and I eventually fell asleep and slept until mid afternoon. I can't claim that I woke refreshed and tonight at work looks like being a very very long night indeed. I think I’m going to see whether I can book Thursday off as well as Friday. It’ll be a shame to lose £50.00 in overtime payments but it is Nat’s birthday and the last thing I want to do is go on holiday with an extremely painful wrist.

Listened to the All About Symbian and The Phones Show Chat podcasts in bed today and the good news is that the N8, a few little niggles aside, appears to be the best phone that Nokia has ever made and lives up to the hype. Steve Litchfield (AAS & TPSC) considers it to bed the best camera phone in the world bar none and capable of going head to head with many stand alone point and shoot cameras and even some lower end SLR’s. Now that’s praise indeed and I’m becoming more and more committed to the idea of buying one. This is, after all, the only the reason why I’ve done all of this overtime this weekend; that being said, however, given the news today about the coming increase in University fees I’d probably be best advised saving it towards those. How the F**k are Nat and Hannah ever going to be able to afford to go to University? I’d write to Clare Rayner for advice if it wasn’t for the sad fact that she passed away last night. Now there’s a woman who could look back on her life and say that she did indeed do an awful lot of good for an awful lot of people. RIP Clare Rayner, Humanist, Atheist and all round decent egg.
JDM returned to work tonight after recovering from his knee operation; proudly displaying his scars including before and after photos of said scars. They said I was crude when I did that so obviously rank hath its privileges. We had a ten minute buzz that lasted for forty five I love it when others can’t count and keep asking the same dumb questions and show utter disregard for the time. Best of all we’ve another meeting scheduled for tomorrow evening so Lord knows what we will’ll have to discuss at that one. No doubt Prash will ask his classic one o clock question and then immediately forget the answer. I’m sure he does it on purpose because I know he’s not that stupid. Fairs fair, they were loads of people available to field the workload while we were procrastinating!
WTF!!! When we were finished and had returned to our work stations I finally managed to get round to logging into twitter. I noticed I’d acquired a number of new followers (174 all told) and decided to check them out. Well knock me down with a feather, one turned out to be famous writer, journalist and atheist Christopher Hitchins's, yes the Hitch, and he’d followed me. So., of course, I immediately repaid the favour and followed him but HTF did he see my stuff? I’m going to have to up my game now, I’m not going to be able to Tweet any old bollocks if I’ve got a writer of his calibre looking over my shoulder. I should mention that while I wasn’t following his twitter stream I have his Slate articles as one of my Google Reader “thinkers” feeds. The F**king Hitch FM!!!
I’ve just seen the pictures of the young Afghani girl who had her nose and ears cut off by her husbands family (why can’t we have a decent religion like they do) with her new, temporary, prosthetic nose. This is what she will eventually look like when decadent godless western surgeons will reconstruct it for real… what a bunch of C**ts they must be for going against God’s will like that… Stoning is, obviously, too good for them don’t they know God wants men to hate and suppress women?
Well, never show C anything or she’ll end up showing everyone else. I made the “mistake” of showing her the Oddee site which compiles lists of weird things. Before I know it she’s ferreting about all over it finding interesting things I was saving for later. Naughty lady won’t show you anything else if you keep doing this. Only Joking! Bollocks I’ve still got a hundred words to go in order to reach 1,000. I’ll have to keep reading Twitter and Google Reader until I find something else to write about. Can’t keep talking about using waffle to fill the space that’s left because eventually that strategy will become tedious I mean I’m bored doing it now so Lord knows what you dear reader are feeling as you plough your way through this waiting for me to eventually say that I’ve made it to the point I wanted to reach and that there’s no longer any need for me to continue. Not quite there yet…Yeah!

Monday 11 Oct - overtime, work, night team, moscow, circus, twitter

Last night I moved over and sat near the alternative night team. What a mistake, sat there for three hours during which time not a single one of them spoke to me. Well if they ever ask for someone to transfer teams I know someone who won’t be volunteering!
Eventually midnight arrived and I packed up and cycled home. I got back around 12:30 which wasn’t bad going as I was cycling into the wind most of the way home. I wonder if cycling is why my hips still hurt after the operations. I grabbed a beer from the fridge, Oh God there are only four and we’ve no money until Friday. I nursed two of them while playing about on Twitter waiting to wind down enough to go to bed. I think I came up with some bad Hashtags film titles but I was to make up for this later when I got up. Finally, about 2:30 I went to bed and slept until nine when I woke to cancel my dental appointment; there were two reasons for doing this, one, I wanted to stay in bed and two I didn’t have any money to pay them with and they’ve stopped accepting cheques.
Eventually, I woke at 1:00 PM and came downstairs to watch the news followed by the amazing Jeremy Kyle (I love you Jeremy). However, I soon became involved in another twitter hashtag game and poor Jeremy’s programme was frozen for 90 minutes while I came up with as many stupid quotes as possible. The Tag was “#four wordsyouwouldn’twanttohearapoliticiansay”
I also noticed that next week, when we’re away, the Moscow State Circus comes to Leicester. I took Nat to see this circus when he was a just little boy but Hannah and Deb didn’t come because Hannah was a baby in arms and we don’t do that “take the baby who’ll cry all the way through and spoil it for everybody else” thing. The circus is outstanding, far better than the American one and on a par with the Chinese; the acrobats are incredible. I decided, it’s here until the Sunday and we’re back on Saturday, that I would treat the family and take them to the final performance. While I’m at work doing overtime to pay for this Deb’s spending the evening on line looking to see if we can book tickets more cheaply; otherwise the best seats will cost the four of us exactly £100 full price.
Everyone was home for 4:00 but not for long. Brandon came round for Nat, accompanied by Lucy who did an enormous incredibly stinky Poo in our garden, who then went back to his house with him. Hannah was soon playing with Shantelle, who came inside and I was getting ready for work. I cycled in and arrived at 17:45 only to discover that it was incredibly busy, I nearly went back home. I haven’t stopped until now, 20:37, when I finally started writing this! In twenty minutes the overnight team will be in and I look forward to being ignored for another three hours…such fun!
Nope, looks like they’re having the brief we had last week so I’m by myself, just gone out to smoking area for fresh air, can’t get out anywhere else and they’ve all been let out of meeting for a smoke break. Jesus, it seems everybody on the other team smokes. I GAVE UP AND CAME BACK INSIDE AS I COULDN’T STAND THE SMELL. That’s the last time I forget to take my break and go out late! It’s 22:15 now and I’ve an hour and forty five minutes left to go, then two hours tomorrow and Wednesday and Thursday and that’s my overtime stint done for now. The problem is, when you do O/T is that you start to get used to the extra cash and before you know it you’re always at work. Mind you, if I do it in the evening then at least I get the day to myself. Think I’ll post this now I can always update later if need be.

Nat's Blog, Ballistic Helmet, Skiing Trip, Last Chance sallon, Gadget Show, Lego, Overtime Planning, Twitter

I was right, the Blog issue came to a head tonight; I’d been in bed all day and I’d gradually been getting more and more annoyed. Nat wants to go skiing and had promised to start writing his blog everyday (it’s only 50 f**king words for Gods sake now Deb’s in charge) but yet again it hadn’t been done. As far as I was concerned not only was he repeatedly breaking a promise but he was now taking the piss and treating us with utter contempt. He will never know how close he came to losing that trip as he did this evening. I’d had enough, he’s got f**king dyspraxia and if he doesn’t deal with it now it’ll screw his life over just as it did mine. I should have made my living out of writing but instead I was scared of it for forty years. So after a calm build up lasting a good thirty seconds I put on my “Going F**KING Ballistic Helmet” and gave him both barrels of shit full on in his face (God knows how many rules of grammar I’ve probably just broken in that previous sentence) in fact at one point I did decide that I’d had enough he’d crossed too many lines and skiing was history. The penny didn’t drop; it was only a few minutes later that he realised what I’d said and that he’d blown it. It was like being called into the office and being fired it the finality takes a few minutes to sink in. He ran for his bedroom and was in tears. I let him stew in his juices before I offered him his FINAL (hope UR reading this Nat) and I do mean Final chance. The next time he misses one he loses his skiing trip; then it’s a downhill slide from there, Scouts will be next, then Rugby, then Judo, the Boxing, the GamesWorkshop and finally his X-box and PC. I don’t want to do this but if I have to I will. His future is far more important than him not hating me. If that’s the price I’ve got to pay then so be it!!!

NAT UR DRINKING IN THE LAST CHANCE SALOON

Apparently Nat’s doing something to do with Lego and the USA but I was in no mood to be interested he’ll have to tell me tomorrow. I then watched the Gadget Show and had dinner before leaving for work. I decided that I would take advantage of the overtime on offer (at double bubble = £25 per hour) and put myself down to do

2 hours on Wednesday 18:55 – 20:55

2 hours on Thursday ditto

5 hours on Friday 19:00 – 00:00

6 hours on Saturday 18:00 – 00:00

6 hours on Sunday 18:00 – 00:00

I couldn’t decide whether to do Monday evening too as this would be my only night off before our shift started again on Tuesday. Mind you I’m only in for three days next week as we’re off to Cornwall on Saturday and Alf and Doreen are visiting on Friday to take Nat out for a birthday meal – he becomes a teenager the day before Thursday 14 October…WTF did the time go?

C is now sitting next to me where Ash used to sit and I spent some of the night explaining how Twitter worked to her. The rest of the time was spent writing the previous entries on this blog, Twittering and reading my Google feeds. Now I’ve only got to write an additional twenty words to have reached the magic six hundred. Four More To Go!

Twitter, Pope Blames Hitler, Stalin and Mao on Atheists, Cartoon Rebuttal, Haircut, Bike Back, Splash Camp, Losing It With Hannah's Crying,

Another night passed in front of the PC twittering away about the Papal visit and the damned arrogance of that former Hitler Youth berating atheist for all the carnage of the last century. Not a bad strategy when most people think Hitler was an atheist along with Stalin and Mao. In fact he was a Catholic and in his speeches and writings makes numerous references to that effect. Whenever we atheists are blamed for the slaughter of the innocents I’m always reminded of this cartoon which seems apropos.

Don’t try blaming us matey, we don’t go round killing people in the name of an imaginary beardy friend who lives on a cloud. In fact, I’d suggest that we probably respect life far more that you and your death obsessed cult.
When Deb got home she took me to get my hair and beard cut (A Number Two - I’m a skinhead now) and then dropped me off to pick up my bike. Wow, what a difference, it was like riding a brand new bike...Oh TheJoy!

Nat was off to Splash camp this afternoon with his scout troop. It was being held at the canal basin in Leicester over the weekend and he was picked up and off shortly after 5:00 that afternoon. Darren was kind enough to take him so that was one less journey for us.

Before he left he and Hannah were once again bickering and somehow she hit him and appeared to have really hurt him. Instead of seeing if he was OK she started crying hysterically; I’m sorry to admit that at this point I lost it with her big time, I blame tiredness, and gave her a totally over the top telling off. Of course this only had the effect of making her worse, getting Deb mad at me and resulting in a strained atmosphere for the rest of the evening. I’ve got to work out a strategy that works with that child before she and I are completely alienated.

Eventually she and Deb went to bed and once again I spent the night downstairs on the PC fuming at Hannah.

Twittering, Penn Jillette: A Complement and a Retweet. The Broken Link

1. Well have I made it into the big time or what? This evening I responded to a 9/11 related tweet sent out by Penn Juliette of Penn and Teller fame.

He had twittered “Imagine No Religion” with a link to a picture of the Twin Towers with the Sun raising between them. In response I replied with the following “@pennjillette Unfortunately although they worship an Imaginary Friend the essential problem with the religious is their lack of imagination! To which, to my astonishment, he replied with the following tweet direct to me: “pennjillette @mysickbones - Wow, very well written. I then discovered that he had retweeted my original tweet to his 1, 625,379 followers. Wow now that’s a lot of people reading what you have to say; mind you, as I attracted no more followers after this, maybe it’s not that big a deal. The thing is I do, after a year of effectively talking to myself, seem to have started interacting with others on Twitter. It seems to be a question of focusing on an area and then concentrating on it fully; with me that area is promoting atheism, science and scepticism. This wasn’t all, I had tweeted a link to A Kansan's Guide to Science (http://bit.ly/c3jhQI) to show that not everyone in that State was a fundamentalist God Bothering Bigot (although it is the State where the Flying Spaghetti Monster was originated; in response to a school board trying to introduce “Intelligent Design” into the school syllabus) which another twitterer forwarded to an American biblical fundamentalist. Unfortunately dicovg had accidently cut the last letter off of the end of the link so it didn’t work. I’ve sent him a tweet to advise him what’s happened; hopefully he’ll send it again.

Trying To Join The Twitterati - Not A Wasted Day...Honest!

Very much like yesterday, Tuesday drifted by on a cloud of nothing in particular, I must start that Stanford course...soon. If I recall I started my Twitter marathon determined to start interacting with others rather than simply posting shit that no one reads. As for the rest of the family I don’t think any of us did anything of note or if we did I don’t recall. This is one of the problems that come with working nights; on my days off I tend to stay up during the nights and catch some sleep during the day. The upshot is that I possess little sense of time and can’t recall if I did something today or yesterday. I’ll have to start twittering on my phone at the time something happens and use these as aids to my recall. Anyway judging by tomorrow’s entry I stayed on the PC most of the day and through the night mainly on Twitter. I did archive my goal though and began to actually interact with other people. Started cobnverstion with robineccles who later sent my the Tim Minchin video link.

Hannah Twin Lakes...again, Calls, Calls, Calls, Occupational Health, Tweet 1,000

Millfield School Year Four are off to Twin Lakes today, it's a shame that the weather's so yukky, because it's the last day of the school year tomorrow and this is their end of year trip/treat. Hannah should just get a room in Melton Mowbray as it seems, at the moment at least, that she lives at Twin Lakes so frequent are her visits!

I received a plethora of telephone calls this morning; first  "Doit4Real rang wanting to speak to Deb about booking a week with them for Nat this summer because the two sites we'd already applied for were fully booked. I explained that Deb had spoken to them about this already because they'd called about it yesterday.I'd understood, from Deb, that she'd already booked an alternative venue. She had no record of this so I gave her Deb's work number so that she could check directly with her.
As I hung up the phone it rang again. Answering I could not understand anything the person on the other end said. The line cleared and the caller explained that she was Lucy and she was calling from the Occupational Health Dept at  work. My mobile rang at this point and I had to put Lucy on hold; it was Deb wanting some Doit4Real info, I explained that I couldn't speak and would call her back ASAP. Back on the line with Lucy she explained that John, my manager, had referred me to OH and she was calling to follow up his referral. She wasn't aware of my situation Re:Hip Replacement at all  so I explained the position, told her that I was now walking and that I was considering returning to work next week. She was surprised that I was thinking of returning so soon but, as I said, I was getting cabin fever at home and I was now virtually fully mobile. I suggested that perhaps I could return first for one night, then two, then three, until I was sure that I was up to returning full-time. She agreed this might be a good idea but, whatever I decided to do, she wanted to see me before I returned at all. We had provisionally agreed to meet at 11:00 next Tuesday but, as she was giving me her direct contact number, before we confirmed these arrangements she was cut off. I hadn't managed to get her number when this happened and so I was about to 1471 her call when Deb called and made that impossible. I tried, instead, to ring Reception (at work) but this number kept putting me straight through to a CSO. Apart from the fact that lines had a queue of backed-up calls a CSO wouldn't have been able to help me so I rang off to wait for Lucy to call me back... I'm still waiting!
Today I posted my 1000th Tweet and it was a dozy; I'd come across a video of famous movie themes played on the vuvuzela and posted the link to this. Here's the actual tweet:
#vuvuzela #vuvuzelafilmscores #vuvzelamusic #movies #vuvuzelas #films #filmscores Film Themes on Vuvuzela  http://bit.ly/cOmomu MY1000TWEET. I've actually embedded the video itself in the post below this one.

Not Sitting in the Sun, Twitter Bollocks, and two Hundred Words of Nothing

Well if today is anything to go by then Summer is well and truly over. It's peeing down and as dreary as can be. It's raining I'm sitting at home doing nothing in particular so can I find two hundred words of something to say. This is the challenge I set Nat everyday so am I up to it? I can say that I'm totally confused by a tweet I've received:
to-wit this one
BritishRT  @mysickbones cheers via @JasonBradbury I sent a the following tweet to Jason Bradbury : @JasonBradbury Some one tries to explain them here if this is of any use to you http://bit.ly/9SQ22P PS Loved the Gadget Show Live this year
In response to his query  about the lyrics of this song http://www.songmeanings.net/songs/view/3530822107858700024/
I don't know why I've received this follow up from BritishRT because I can't work out what British RT (retweet) is. maybe I'll get a response which will explain everything. In the mean time I've followed the links and it just leads me to this site Favstar.fm and this site makes even less sense. maybe I'm just being stupid but the intricacies of Twitter are weird! I've watched their video and I'm still not clear what it's for. But, I've proved that you can write two hundred words about nothing.
