I’m here at work and as it’s fairly quite I’ve been reading through my Google reader feeds. As a technophile I subscribe to quite a number of technology and telecommunications orientated sites. There’s only one subject on all of them; the iPad, which launched in the USA yesterday.
To say that the sites are dominated by articles concerning this particular device is truly an understatement!
I have no idea why Apple spend any money on advertising themselves when there are so many others willing to advertise for them for free, it must be the fact that the new products they realise have a history of being game changers. Certainly the iPad is getting far better reviews than would have been expected when it was first announced. At that time have the tech community seemed convinced that this was a device without a market (to be fair the other have thought it was the second Cumming – not a spelling mistake more a description of the writers’ situation). Everyone seems to have been wowed by the actual device itself. It’s received fulsome praise as an effective alternative to a dedicated ereader amongst other things and certainly the screen prints look spectacular.
So it looks as though Apple have got another winner on their hands; well done you lot at Apple.

On a slightly related note my old Nokia N95 may have cured itself.
Apparently there’s water damage to the electronics, per 3’s repair department, and this was causing the battery to drain a full charge within minutes of the phone being switched on; now, after a few weeks at home sitting on the mantle piece unloved and unused it seems to be retaining it’s charge. It registered as fully charged at lunch time on Friday 2/4 and since then it’s been left in stand-by mode. I’ve just used it for a little while (it’s now 05:21 Sunday 4/4) and it started to bleep low battery. So it’s held its charge on stand by so now I’ll have to recharge it and actively use it and see what happens then. If it does last the day on active use then we’ve got a functioning Smart Phone back. If I give it to Nat it’ll mean that he’s got a phone with GPS and that means that if need be we can locate him if he ever needs us. May be being optimistic too soon, I plugged in charged about 20 minutes ago and phone just beeped to tell me that the battery was now full. Seems a little on the quick side to put it mildly! Now unplugged, will leave it and see how long it takes to lose total charge.

With the use of these under hand methods I’m gradually getting toward my target of one thousand words in this one particular post but will converting this what I is writing now into Yoda speak be sufficient to meet that target or will I have to winkle out some other sneaky techniques in order to achieve my stated aim of reaching one thousand words? It’s a tension filled cliff hanger which will be resolved shortly once I post these words into the Yoda speak converter is.

Five words short, am I!
No, wait, that makes it exactly a thousand and this, in addition, makes it one thousand and twenty one.
